She is highly trained and always brings to the practice new approaches that are innovative, fun, and challenging. We work together to keep my core strong and my body flexible and balanced, whether on the classic reformer or other modern equipment in her solo studio. On the rare occasions I get a flair up of sciatica during a busy work week she cues me back into alignment and I leave pain free. She’s that good.

    Alane works with female and male clients of different abilities and ages from top athletes and pregnant moms to seniors. I truly recommend her to you. Your body and spirit will thank you.

  • On my 70th birthday, I thank you, my Pilates instructor, for the gifts of mobility and strength

    A year ago, Pilates was new to me and the reformer looked like an instrument of torture. You began class by teaching effective breathing from the ribs. Our class learned what good posture is supposed to feel like. Your instructions were clear always emphasizing safety. You were the only instructor who offered modifications for those who had injuries or osteoporosis. I now sign up early for your classes as they fill up fast.

    I made the most improvement with private classes in your studio. Diagnosed with osteoporosis, I needed extra help to prevent injury on the equipment. The extra time on the Bosu improved balance tremendously. I appreciated your observations and remedies for my aches and pains. My awkward gait was probably the source of my knee pain. The tension in my shoulders and neck was because my shoulders were not aligned. "Move from the hip, not the knees" and "navel to spine" were key reminders while using the reformer. I am grateful to you for making me feel and look younger.

  • Alane, owner of Modern Body Pilates, has absolutely changed the way I experience my body!

    I've struggled with chronic pain due to scoliosis for 20+ years and have gone to tons of chiropractors, acupuncturists, and massage therapists. I have also stayed active with many various activities and sports (dance, yoga, etc). I have NEVER had the amount of relief that I have felt now doing Pilates for just a few weeks. Alane is incredible and has helped me not only feel better, but also understand my body alignment in such a helpful way. She is fun, caring and extremely knowledgeable. Private lessons have been worth every penny, and I believe will be an investment in my long-term mobility. Thank you for improving my quality of life!

  • I started going to Modern Body Pilates for my upcoming wedding and have been going for nearly a week now. I have to say I am hooked.

    It is such an amazing workout and I am so excited to watch my body transform. What makes my workout even more amazing is my instructor Alane. She's so knowledgeable, caring, and passionate about Pilates. I am riddled with old sports injuries. Knowing this, Alane watches my form to make sure I am using the correct muscles so I don't re-injure myself. She also modifies some of the exercises to ensure I leave upright. I cannot wait until my next appointment with Alane at Modern Body Pilates!

    Its a perfect 30 minute workout that shows results. Who doesn't have 30 minutes right? The best thing for me was the variety of exercises I found myself trying that actually worked to tone every muscle in my body. Alane is a knowledgeable instructor that focuses on form. Highly recommend!

    I came to her at age 72 with tons of body issues. Scoliosis, poor posture, poor balance, weak core and pain in various areas. Now I’m 73 and on the road to being strong with good posture and improved gait. Her knowledge of Pilates and all that the human body is capable of is amazing. Plus she is patient. She makes each session worthwhile and I leave feeling awesome. I can’t recommend her enough, like I said…she has changed my life in such a positive way. Thank you Alane!
